Jude Law Hair Transplant, before and after
Jude law is an English actor and writer who at the age of 44 has starred in many Films and TV shows, from the recent Sherlock Holmes to the classic Talented Mr. Ripley, Law is no stranger to the spotlight. He has been nominated for 2 Academy awards, 3 Golden Globes, 2 Oscars and many other awards over the years and has more than definitely secured his spot in the history books.
He even managed to win world’s sexiest man back in 2004! It doesn’t look like he is going to stop anytime soon either with roles in upcoming TV Series ‘The Young Pope’ and the Third Sherlock Holmes film which has also recently been announced. The question on everyone’s mind is will his hair be able to keep up with him this time? There has been a lot of speculation in the past on whether Law has been using hair products to stop his hairline from receding further, and he’s even had moments where he wore hats to cover up his baldness (in 2009).
But between the years of 2011 where Jude was at around a 3 on the Norwood scale and looked like he was on his way to losing all of his hair; but then in 2012 Law had magically grown back the majority of his hair although you could still tell his hairline was receding in certain areas.
So from 2009-2012 Laws hair went through a roller coaster ride, and it wasn’t over yet as he’s lost pretty much all of his hair in 2013 and you might even say it was on a worse level than 2 years previous. But can the damage be recovered?
It seems Jude has some good tactics when it comes to re-growing hair and by 2015 he had a full head of hair again, the question is did he have a transplant or simply use hair loss medication? We believe that Law had an FUE Hair transplant and it clearly worked well for him as it has for many people around the world since its arrival on the transplant scene! Below you can find information on FUE and FUT hair transplants and how they can help everyday people keep their hair without any pain or leaving massive scars…
What is an FUE Hair transplant?
FUE or Follicular unit Extraction is a relatively new version of the standard FUT (Follicular unit Transplantation) although there is a major difference between the two! Many celebrities have hair transplants without any visible scars or any way to tell, with FUE this is also possible for the public. This unique method of hair transplantation leaves circular 1 millimetre scars on your scalp instead of one major scar, this way they can heal faster as well as being invisible most. Stars such as Gordon Ramsey and Wayne Rooney have used this treatment to keep some of their precious locks so why can’t you? Although it may not be the cheapest thing in the world if you are missing your hair and feel you would benefit from a transplant FUE is our recommended method of transplantation.
FUE works by individually removing the follicular units from the scalp, although this may sound more painful than other methods it, in fact, causes the least discomfort as well as leaving the smallest mark. To remove the follicles a 1mm punch is placed around the unit and a circle is cut in the skin around it. This process is repeated unit you have the need after the original removal process no more damage will be done to your scalp. At this point, your wounds are left to heal and you would move onto implanting the hair. Most people who have had this treatment say it is pretty painless and that the scars are pretty much impossible to spot unless you look closely. SO if you’re looking for a transplant but want it to be as hidden as possible then this transplantation method is the one for you!
How is FUE different to FUT?
Although FUT surgery is still used by some clinics it seems that FUE is slowly taking control of the market. The main reason for this being there is a much better survival rate with FUE when compared to FUT so who would want to take the punt on FUT if there is more chance that it won’t survive. Another of the key reasons the FUE treatment is becoming more and more popular is the fact it causes much less pain/discomfort compared to FUT treatment. With FUT you may require stitches to cover up some of the damages; whereas with FUE, there are only small 1mm circular scars left on the scalp which is pretty much invisible.
If you’re looking for a treatment that will leave you with a full head of hair and without any major scars/noticeable effects from the transplant then FUE is probably the best option for you. Some patients have even called this treatment ‘relaxing’ and claimed to have fallen asleep during the procedure!
