We have a few Scottish locations where patients have come to have a consultation with us in the past. We also offer video consultation as this is the most popular method in these post covid days.
Typically it takes around 6-8 hours for a FUE hair transplant. It can take less time typically with eyebrow transplants and it can also take longer (sometimes over a 2 day period) if it’s a large case where a large number of grafts are to be transplanted.
The only part that is uncomfortable is the initial administration of local anaesthetic to numb the donor area for extraction and recipient area for implantation. After this, most of our patients report no pain.
Hair transplants should last a lifetime if taken care of. This is because the hair that we take from the back and sides is resistant to the hormone DHT that causes hair loss, therefore the hair that we transplant will retain it’s characteristics as if it was growing from the back of the head.
The price varies from patient to patient. Typically a hair transplant in Glasgow will cost between £3,000 and £7,000 for a 1 session of a maximum of 3,000 grafts.
If a patient has a larger surface area of hair loss and requires 2 surgeries, the cost can then increase and be around £10,000 – £14,000. Every patient gets a personalised price as no 2 patients have the same levels of hair loss.
